2010 European Masters Marathon Championships

In accordance with C.E.C International Rules, travel, board and lodging expenses are to be covered by each nation/participating athletes themselves.
ENTRY FEES
Marathon*
35,- € if application until 2010-03-31
40,- € if application until 2010-06-04
49,- € if application on 2010-06-12/13
incl. pasta (1x portion) at the Pasta-Party on Saturday, 2010-06-12 and one athlete-shirt (Please indicate your size in the application).
Regarding payment, please note the following:
For all participants with a German bank account: Entry fee must be paid by one-off bank authorization or direct debit authorization only.
For all participants without a German bank account: Entry fee must be paid by credit card (MasterCard or Visa) or PayPal only.
Cheques will not be accepted.
If a participant does not start, the entry fee may not be claimed back. This also applies in case of sickness.
ELEGIBILITY TO COMPETE
Speed-Skaters will be admitted only.
Wearing helmets is mandatory and hand-protectors are recommended.
COLLECTIVE REGISTRATIONS
For the European Masters 2010, participants must be licensed by their National Federation. The National Federation must confirm that the participants are registered with a member organization. Only participants from European nations will be considered. Each participant has to fill out an entry form of the European Masters.
AGE GROUP ALLOCATIONS
Age group 30: Female and male participants born between 1980 and 1971
Age group 40: Female and male participants born between 1970 and 1961
Age group 50: Female and male participants born between 1960 and 1951
Age group 60: Female and male participants born in or before 1950
Female and male participants are evaluated in separate categories.
INSURANCE AND LIABILITY
The participation is at participants own risk. No liability of any kind will be assumed, neither by the City of Damp. This limitation of liability expressly includes accidents, loss or damage of clothing and other belongings. Physical fitness to compete is presupposed. By collecting your race number the participant confirms his/her fitness to compete.
COURSE
The course is a marathon:
The marathon starts near the Ostseebad Damp, which is directly located on the beautiful white shores of the Baltic Sea in Schleswig-Holstein.
You’ll skate along blooming fields and thatched houses with a magnificent view on the Baltic Sea. Start and finish line are on the K61, near the branch Dorotheental.
From the next intersection, the track continues on the K63 in the direction of Schuby. Before you have to cross the main road B203, you’ll pass through the suburbs Dörphof and Karby. This is the northernmost point of the track.
The way back goes along the K77 through Winnemark and Thumby. Afterwards you’ll follow the K61 in the direction of Damp.
The finish line is on the K61 before the branch Dorotheental
In Thumby you’ll find a service point with beverage. More beverages and fruits are provided in Damp, directly in front of the Congress Centrum.
Each 5 kilometer, such as the final 500m and 100m are marked by signs. It will be kept free of traffic by the police and additional helpers. Instructions by route marshals have to be followed.
START:
Start will be at Damp, Seeuferweg/Kreisstraße 61. The starting order requires all athletes to be placed in starting blocks according to gender and age groups.
FINISH
The finish will be at Damp.
ROAD SERVICE
There is one service point with fruits and beverages on the circuit and one in the finish area, too. Medical care will be provided on the circuit and in the finish area.
RULES
During this event, the C. E. C. Sports Rules and C. E. R. S. Rules will apply.
PREPARATORY MEETING
Each federation has to declare and register one delegate until 2010-06-01.
The preparatory meeting will take place on 2010-06-13, 04:30 p.m.
STARTING PACKAGES
Participants can pick up their starting packages in the pavilion at the Aktionsstrand Damp.
Opening hours of the registration office:
2010-06-12: 02:00 – 08:00 p.m.
2010-06-13: 7:30 – 09:00 a.m.
SUNDAY, 2010-06-13:
10:00 a.m. - Start from the start gate: European Masters Marathon - gents - inline skates
10:05 a.m. - Start from the start gate: European Masters Marathon - women - inline skates
Starting from 12:30 a.m. - Medal presentation ceremony in the pavilion at the Aktionsstrand
ORGANIZATIONAL NOTES:
Race numbers are non-transferable. Race numbers have to be fastened in a position where they can be seen easily. One race number is to be fastened to the left thigh.
Each eligible person who passes the finish line will be handed a medal immediately upon completing the race. The certificates of performance, including personal ranking and time can be downloaded and printed from the internet. The award ceremonies for the three fastest competitors of each age category will take place at the end of the event.
Time will be recorded electronically. On the whole course of the, the official time will be taken by REAL-Time-Champion-Chip. Therefore, all participants are required to wear a chip, which will be provided in the start-documents. Participants have to return their chip at 02:00 p.m. at the latest, otherwise the chip will be considered as bought for a price of 90,- €.
